Plasma cutting of metal

In the field of metal processing, plasma cutting services have become popular thanks to the economics of this method and the Atras Veiksans. The nature of the technology is as follows: compressed high pressure air is fed, the electrodes form an electric arc which, when interacting with air, is transformed into plasma -- ionized high temperature gas. Plasma melts the raw material and the compressed air flow blows it out of the cut area. The technology enables cutting of sheet and class metal with plasma.

Metal cutting with plasma tends to be two types: superficial and splitting. The splitting cuts the material throughout its thickness, while at the same time the superficial is carried out at a sharp angle to the metal surface, which ensures roughness of the overlying layers. Usually used to remove surface defects such as welds, castings, cracks.

Important benefits of plasma cutting

 - high cut rate of material of low and medium thickness (up to 60 mm) – more than 2 metres per minute;
 - universality: plasma-capable cutting of stainless steel, non-ferrous and black metals and alloys;
 - accuracy and smoothness of cuts — no post-treatment is practically required;
 - economy and safety – it is not necessary to purchase and use expensive gaseous substances;
 - short burning time;
 - the ability to cut out substandard blanks of complex shapes.
This method should take into account that the higher the thermal conductivity of the metal, the lower the thickness of the sheet it will be possible to cut, otherwise the suture will be uneven and the material will start to melt rapidly. In this way, the sheet will have to be selected thinner for aluminium plasma cutting than for steel processing, for example.

Cutting of metal with plasma, the price of which is based on the size of the cut, the thickness of the metal plate, the number of holes required, allows a good quality of the cuts to be obtained, avoiding deformation of the product.
